Secretary Skorton Announces Sakurako D. Fisher Is Fourth Campaign Co-Chair

July 9, 2015

Secretary David Skorton announced that Sakurako D. Fisher has agreed to serve as a co-chair of the Smithsonian Campaign.  She joins Barbara M. Barrett, David M. Rubenstein and Alan G. Spoon.

In a message shared with advisory boards and Smithsonian Campaign donors, the Secretary noted that Fisher "adds to our distinguished group of co-chairs her campaign experience, love of fundraising and thoughtful perspectives gained in service of international organizations and higher education institutions, including Stanford University.  She has been a tireless ambassador for the Smithsonian for more than 10 years, and her knowledge of the institution was deepened during her service as Chair of the Smithsonian National Board for the past three years."

The co-chairs, through their experience, counsel and foresight, steer campaign strategy and planning and provide leadership to the campaign, campaign staff and the Campaign Steering Committee.
