On the Road With Animal Connections
The 18-wheeler parked in front of the Castle represents one of the Smithsonian’s latest commitments to reaching people everywhere. Visitors who boarded Animal Connections, Our Journeys Together on the National Mall found a 1,000-square-foot mobile educational exhibit exploring how people and animals connect in the home, the farm, the wild, the zoo and the veterinary clinic. The exhibition was developed to inspire future generations of veterinary professionals. It’s a partnership with the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition Service, the National Zoo and the American Veterinary Medical Association, on the occasion of that organization’s 150th anniversary. Sponsorship support from Zoetis made the traveling exhibition possible. Other stops to date include Chicago and New York.
