Michael Lynton Appointed to Board of Regents
Michael Lynton has been appointed a citizen member of the Board of Regents. President Barack Obama signed the resolution appointing him to a six-year term. Lynton is CEO of Sony Entertainment Inc. He previously worked for Time Warner Entertainment Co., was chairman and CEO of Pearson PLC’s Penguin Group and served as president of the Walt Disney Company’s Disney Publishing, which he started, and Disney’s Hollywood Pictures. He received a Bachelor of Arts from and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. Lynton assumes the board seat previously held by France Córdova, who become president of the National Science Foundation in March of this year.
